How we operate

We are funded by the Neighbourhood Houses Co-ordination Program. We receive funding from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. The Neighbourhood Houses Victoria (NHVic) is the peak body for the Neighbourhood House and Learning Centre sector in Victoria. Networks collaborate with Member Neighbourhood Houses, State Government, Local Government and the NHVic.

What we do

We are a membership-based organisation and link information and resource sharing for Neighbourhood Houses and their communities in the north-west of the Northern Metropolitan Region of Victoria.

We are responsive to the ongoing needs of the membership by developing strategies for co-operation, mutual support, staff development and training. However, we also develop and promote effective linkages and partnerships between Neighbourhood Houses and other service providers within the community.

We promote community awareness and community development practice and have established mechanisms for input by our collective of Neighbourhood Houses to Local Government, State Government including regional offices, and peak bodies such as the Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, Inc. and the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association, Inc.
