North West Neighbourhood House Network acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the lands and waterways on which we operate. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people part of this community.

Occasional Child Care

Philosophy

Fawkner Occasional Care operates according to a philosophy of open management by encouraging participation and discussion about all issues relevant to the running of the Centre. We are a child-focused Centre where:

  • All children have the right to feel safe and secure in their environment, to develop strong self-esteem and confidence, as well as a positive perception of the world around them
  • We promote the value of play, and ensure that children have the opportunities for all types of play
  • All children are treated with respect and individuality in their development domains: social, emotional, language, physical, cognitive, creative and sensory.
  • All families are welcomed and valued
  • Our resources and activities are safe and developmentally age appropriate
